Midlife Margaritas Netflix Picks for January 2019

Lately I have been, well, blah. I’m trying to avoid the news and anything else that reminds me the world is heading straight into a Zombie Apocalypse. So I’ve started to binge (just a little) on Netflix. And guess what my favorite genres are? Apocalyptic, Sci-Fi, Drama, Thrillers, Scary and Action. I’m not the romantic movie kinda girl unless it’s Thelma & Louise style. lol

So, I thought about rating some of my favs. No worries though, I won’t spoil it for you! But if you do watch them or have seen them, let me know what you think?

Here’s how I’m rating them. Not stars or thumbs up, but I’m rating them by margaritas! Clever huh? 5 margaritas mean it was fantastic! 1 margarita and I wouldn’t waste your time unless there is nothing else on.

Here goes!

  1. Bird Box margaritareviewsmargaritareviewsmargaritareviewsmargaritareviewsmargaritareviews

I give this 5 margaritas! Not just because Sandra Bullock is an awesome actor but there were several great actors here. Definitely on the Sci-Fi/Thriller list. It kept me on the edge of my couch. I’m sure you have heard of the Bird Box challenge. Please don’t do that. Just watch the movie! (pairs best with margaritas on the rocks and butter popcorn.)

2.  IO margaritareviewsmargaritareviewsmargaritareviews

This one gets 3 margaritas. It’s end of the world type theme is good. Most people are gone to live in space while a few folks are left behind to try to bring the earth back to life again so folks can come back. Global Climate changes prevail. Pretty good watch but glad I didn’t see it in some fancy theater. This one pairs with a cheap margarita and a bag of Doritos.

3.  SOLO margaritareviewsmargaritareviewsmargaritareviews

Also 3 margaritas. All in Spanish with subtitles. Arrogant guy, surfer dude. Kind of a “think about your life” kinda movie. I don’t mind the subtitles. Lead actor was kinda cute too. I’d say a margarita on the rocks with chips & salsa.

4. YOU margaritareviewsmargaritareviewsmargaritareviewsmargaritareviewsmargaritareviews

This one is a series. You’ll want to binge this! Psycho 30 somethings on the dating scene. You really have to watch who you date. Whether online or meeting somewhere. You never know who people really are.

Lots of drama, thriller, sex. A real thinking movie! This one pairs with several frozen margaritas and a large pizza!

Well that’s it for this month peeps. Let me know if you watch them!

Cheers Y’all!

  1. We LOVED Bird Box and You. Chilling, and good performances. I also very much enjoyed The Haunting of Hill House. 👍🏽 Very scary, and good interpretation of the Shirley Jackson story.
