We just made it through Hurricane Dorian. Raleigh, NC made it ok. No real damage. The coast, not so much. Tornados and water spouts, flooding and power outages. But nothing compared to some of the Bahama Islands that were devastated. We got lucky this time.

Last year about this same time we were going through a hurricane and my college kid was evacuated out of his college town for a full month. Damage to his university was massive. This time, he was only home a week. Thank you Jesus. I love my kids, don’t ever doubt that. BUT I really love the empty nest! Does that make me a bad mom?

So my life lately has pretty much been consumed with the hurricane. I’m trying to not watch the news. Nothing political anyway. I’m so over all of it. I have worn Netflix out. Also lots of Animal Planet channel. IF you follow me on social media, you know our grand dog loves Animal Planet and will watch it for hours! How much is too much screen time for a dog?

Lots of you have been asking about my BFFs Susan and Cheryl…

Susan has become very addicted to Facebook Marketplace. She is literally shopping all day everyday and drives around picking up stuff she buys. I have to say she has found some awesome deals. But the addiction is real and I don’t see her much unless I agree to ride with her to meet her “dealers”. Not even joking.

Cheryl is enjoying partial retirement. She left her corporate, top of the ladder job months ago but says she is working a new job now. She’s been very vague about it though. Kinda got me worried what she’s into. Is she working the phones as a closet sex phone operator? Is she gambling? Is she raising organic chickens and selling their eggs on the black market? I don’t know! I’ll see what I can find out and update later..

You made me feel so loved! My husband baked me a cake and I swear I gained 5 lbs. from it. Now I have to spend the rest of this month trying to lose that 5 lbs. Lawd.
