Ready to live your best life? It’s not always going to be easy, but you got this! Do you feel like you’ve let years of fear and doubt hold you back from doing big things? Are you afraid to fail if only temporarily? Tired of watching others go after their dreams while you feel like yours are still unattainable? I got you! For the next few weeks, we are going to work through our fears, doubts and roadblocks. Because YOU deserve to have the life you’ve always wanted. With some mindset changes, motivation and little hard work, we will come out BIG on the other side! So, sit up, take notes and pour yourself a margarita and let’s dive in!
First thing you need to do is choose your theme song. Not just some song you like but one that gives you the VIBE. You know the one. That song that makes you stand up tall and straight and makes you feel like you own the world. That’s the one! Picture this: You walk into a huge room filled with huge tables with lots of chairs, decor that would beat any Oscars or Emmy award shows. People all dressed up and drinking Champagne. You walk in and the room goes silent. Your theme song belts out and you walk in like the Queen you know are you! Everyone stands and applauds and cheers for you! Because why? You inspire them, fascinate them, wow them and they respect you. Maybe they are even slightly envious. Now, whenever you feel like you aren’t getting anywhere, or this is all just too much, imagine that moment in your head. Keep the vibe! (I’ve been told my Theme Song should be ‘The Bitch is Back’ from Elton John. WTH?)
We are on a journey to living our best lives! This will be in several parts so keep up! You may want to sign up for posts to come via your email. Or not. Either way, let’s kick ass turn up the volume!
We are now on a journey to find out how to live our best lives. We are going to break it down into “parts” so it’s not so overwhelming. What does Living Your Best Life even mean?
Living your best life means living a life that makes you happy, being authentic, having passion and purpose and YOU have the power to decide what that looks like for you. I truly believe we were not put on this earth to be miserable. Also, living your best life doesn’t mean you are happy 24/7 or wealthy or in the best shape of your life. But it’s very important we keep working on ourselves even in our best life! Can you imagine a teacher that’s been teaching for years and does the same lesson plans year after year thinking he/she doesn’t need to continue to learn more and improve? Yeah. Let’s don’t do that.
So now you have a definition of Best Life and a really motivating theme song. What’s next? Homework! Let’s start with a list of roadblocks. You can’t move forward until you move the obstacles out of the way, right? List out all the things keeping you stuck in your current life. Acknowledge each one and then say out loud, “I’m taking my power back from you”. Examples: 1. Not being as healthy as I could be. 2. I have debt hanging over me. 3. I have toxic people/family in my life telling me I can’t do anything right. 4. I hate my job, but I don’t see any way out. 5. I don’t know what my purpose in life is.
You get the picture. Sounds dreadful to put these out there in the universe but you WILL take your power back from these thoughts. Now rehearse the Theme Song vision in your head again. (Also, I would love to know what your theme song is! Either in the comments or DM me!) My Theme Song is Florance + The Machine: Dogs Days of Summer
This is just the beginning of your best life. We have a lot more to cover. Are you in? Are you ready? Are you committed? I think we need to take a deep breath and reflect on what we’ve done so far. You still have homework: list your roadblocks and try to come up with solutions to get past them. Theme song: add it (or more than one if you like!) to your playlist. Envision where you are going to go from here! Feel free to DM me or email me with any questions along the way.
Next week: Passion & Purpose Work! It’s about to get REAL!

I love this! Yes! Let’s do it.
My theme song is “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson. I’m gonna make a change, and I’m starting with me!

Looks like I’m past midlife, according to your criteria, but I’m sure you’ll cut me some slack. Being at least a week behind, as I often am when it comes to reading posts, I’m looking forward to seeing what advice you provide in the next installment of this “program.”
Given all these caveats and where I find myself currently, as described in my blog (found at hbsuefred.com and I think you already follow it), I have not yet decided what my theme song will be for my pending and presumably happier near-term future life, I’ll just say that “Roll With It” by Steve Winwood served me well during what might fall into your definition of midlife.
